The main drive from Lisbon to the Algarvetakes roughly three hours, depending on where exactly you're headed. The two are 277 kilometres apart, and 264 of those are motorway.

From Lisbon to the Algarve

Getting to the Algarve from Lisbon is very straightforward: head for the A2 motorway (E1) signposted towards Faro. This is the easiest and most direct route to this little slice of paradise in Portugal.

If you'd rather avoid the tolls you can take the old IC1 national road. Bear in mind it takes longer, as the distance in that case is around 334 kilometres.
